one of the most beautiful towns on the French Riviera
What's all this about then? Feathers in a drainpipe on Rue Longue.
Are these home-made Christmas decorations (note the gold ribbon)...or is this a pigeon deterrent?

I think the latter, and it sure looks better than those spiky things they usually put on roofs and drainpipes! And it makes a lovely 'still life'!
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely whatever it is. Maybe take the shiny ribbon off? Nice monochrome!.

Jilly, the photo is striking and I just cannot decide the purpose of this assortment of objects... When you look at the smaller collection of feathers on the lower ring, combined with the gold streamers tied above the door and above the balcony, it makes you think that the gold is to shoo the birds away and the feathers are to say, "If you don't shoo, you may wind up as a pile of feathers like these!"
ReplyDeleteBeautiful old door and imbeded shells!
Why not an indian totem ?
ReplyDeleteEither way, it's an excellent find.
