After the Rain

It has rained for days with snow on the Grande Corniche. Yesterday - on the terrace - I couldn't see my hand in front of my face, so low was the cloud. Suddenly this morning it stopped so I hopped in the car and whizzed down to the sea...

-----

  1. Doesn't look real, that odd shade of green water... rather surreal in fact... quite moody...

  2. Owen, too right. It was so odd. The light was strange, ditto the colours. Didn't look like the Mediterranean at all! The water in the foreground is where a river, that runs down the Route de Gorbio enters the sea - from under a bridge.

  3. Well, I guess there goes the expression 'Apres la pluie le beau temps!' But these colors make for a splendid photo...so still.

  5. isn't it wonderful this time of year, when the sea is black from the clouds and the wind is stirring everything up!

  6. "The sea after the rain" is my favorite color, as much as "the grass in the rainy morning "is my favorite perfume..

  8. Thanks for sharing a side of Menton we seldom see. I love the overall feel of this photo, austere and calming at once.

  9. Thank you for whizzing down to get this image. It has the same inner quiet that one feels after a good cry.

  11. If you couldn't see your hand in front of you, it was time to go back to bed !

Unusual light near the sea....but I like it.

  12. Looks like the beach has been washed away. Green see, grey skies, looks like Deauville !

(I really liked your series about the art school)
