one of the most beautiful towns on the French Riviera
I'm not sure I'd want to see my dear departed's death mask. Would you?

Je ne suis pas sûre d'avoir envie de voir le masque mortuaire de mes chers défunts. Le souhaiteriez-vous?

Especially staring through the window at me....
ReplyDeleteNo , I would not! I prefer to keep a living and smiling memory! brrr!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be very moving but I prefer to remember their happy smiling faces.
ReplyDeleteil fait froid dans le dos ce masque mortuaire
ReplyDeleteI agree with Nathalie that I prefer to remember the departed in their alive times. When each of my perents passed away, we used photos of them in their 20's for the newspaper obituary. That is definiately what my mother would have wanted.
ReplyDeleteI dont think I would like it either...
ReplyDeleteOr.. my own...
Great post...

Have to grin at 'departed' translating to something reminiscent of 'defunct'.
ReplyDeleteAnd the top photo makes it look like it's in prison! I've seen copies of Napoleon's and George Washington's death masks and they creep me out.
ReplyDeleteI would never sleep again if forced to have a death mask near me.
ReplyDeleteEerie!
