The Death Mask

I'm not sure I'd want to see my dear departed's death mask. Would you?

-----

Je ne suis pas sûre d'avoir envie de voir le masque mortuaire de mes chers défunts. Le souhaiteriez-vous?

  5. I agree with Nathalie that I prefer to remember the departed in their alive times. When each of my perents passed away, we used photos of them in their 20's for the newspaper obituary. That is definiately what my mother would have wanted.

  7. Have to grin at 'departed' translating to something reminiscent of 'defunct'.

  8. And the top photo makes it look like it's in prison! I've seen copies of Napoleon's and George Washington's death masks and they creep me out.
