  1. I can 'feel' this photo.

  2. Wow. This reads like a Hockney painting.

It seems so familiar to me, yet so distant. The sun is at the same angle as the California coastline, and she might be walking along the Pacific Coast Highway. . .except for the distinctly different color of the water. The graphic quality makes me want to hang this in my living room. I love your composition. A real keeper, Jilly. Kudos!

  4. The best way to walk: alone in the early morning, near the sea, in the sun.. My favorite at least! :)
    Have a nice day!

  5. Bibi, am so glad you like this. And Kim, that's some compliment coming from you! Thankyou. I know and love that Hockney painting. In fact I love all things Hockney. You know, I noticed a lot of fairly graphic style photos at PhotoMenton recently and whilst I took this a week earlier, what I saw at the exhibition made me see this photo differently. I'm so glad you like it.xxx

  6. How disappointing to think that I was there on Wednesday night and didn't even have time for a stroll (or power walk) along the sea!

  7. Nathalie, I agree. That would have been fabulous. On the other hand, I recall it was far colder on Wednesday than when I took this photo. Today it's really cold too but with glorious sunshine and much like the day I took this.

You'll just have to come down again soon, won't you?! xxx

  8. "own no superior" the most important !
The road markings are perfect in that perspective.

  9. I guess you can walk free without any superior, as long as you stay inside the cross walk and watch out of the superior force of the traffic.

  10. The long shadow makes it for me!

  11. The right angles of the crosswalk and sidewalk...the crosswalk pulling me to the edge of the ocean...the lone walker...stunning photo!!! Well done!!!

  12. Oh, how I miss winter in Menton! I have come to understand that cold is a relative concept. It is 34 degrees
(1 Celsius), gray and dismal here today, and no beaches for a thousand miles. Thank you again for keeping me in touch with beautiful Menton, Jilly. It warms my heart.
