The sign hidden in the ivy outside this tiny house in Gorbio says:
'Qui vient en ami,
Arrive toujours trop tard,
Part toujours trop tôt.'
Arrive toujours trop tard,
Part toujours trop tôt.'
...which roughly translates as: 'a friend is someone who always arrives too late and leaves too early.'
