Africa in Gorbio - Dinner under the Stars

A short while ago, the medieval village of Gorbio held an African weekend. During the day: dance lessons, make-up and hair workshops, classes in how to play drums and then on the Saturday night all the village gathered to eat African food under the stars and to enjoy a fabulous music and dance group from Burkina Faso (more tomorrow).

First though, dinner. A wonderfully spicy meat or chicken with rice. This plus as much wine as you wanted, an ice-cream dessert and an amazing concert - all for 17 euros. Can't be bad...

The man in the smaller photo is cooking sausages for those who came later - just for the concert - and who needed something to eat.

  1. I don't think that is what dinner looks like in Africa.

  7. I've never been to Africa or Gorbio, but anything that promotes harmony between cultures looks good to me.
