Bussana Vecchia - Snail Mail
The village mail boxes nestle amongst ivy and Morning Glory on a wall at the foot of the village.
Click on the first photo to enlarge - a snail lives inside the box on the left which gives real meaning to the words 'snail mail.'
~~~~~
Les boîtes aux lettres sont nichées au creux du lierre et des volubilis sur un mur, au pied du village.
Cliquez sur la première photo pour l'agrandir - un escargot vit à l'intérieur de la boîte sur la gauche ce qui donne un véritable sens à l'expression 'courrier d'escargot.'
Your blog is such a feast for the eyes, Jilly.
ReplyDeleteI love that all the boxes are different,not your usual line up of mailboxes.. Say Hi to Bob for me Jilly and have a great time!
ReplyDeleteI like that the boxes are all different, too. There's something in the air today..wonder if anyone else has posted mailboxes!
ReplyDeleteAnd I laughed about the snail mail.
I like mail boxes pictures, in villages; They're all different, pretty, decorated..Snailmail , or "butterfly" mail?..:o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious capture, Jilly.
ReplyDeleteOr, rather, butterfly mail.
ReplyDeleteIt may be as slow as the snail but I love that view of those post boxes outside the house....
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Pixellicious Photos
Oh, I love this so much, and love the snailmail bit, too.
ReplyDeleteThe collection shot is a delight, Jilly. I like that at least two of the villagers had the temerity to dig their letterbox into the face of the wall. That shows a degree of permanency ...
ReplyDeleteI wasn't able to spot the snail but I believe you and the collection of letterboxes sure deserved a photo :-)
