  2. After a church service, the civil ceremony seems so sterile, doesn't it?

  7. Ah-- Southern France! Everyone is so relaxed. I can't imagine a similar scene happening in Paris. Lovely shot of the civil ceremony. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  8. A wonderful picture - bride and groom on waiting room chairs. The bust in the background looks like a ghostly witness.

  9. Bob, that is Marianne, the symbol of the Republic and obligatory in all French town halls. Marianne was originally modelled on Brigitte Bardot but over the years other well known French actresses have posed for the sculptor.

  10. Who doesn't love a wedding? Especially in small villages where the chance tourist can't help but witness the festivities. I confess I've lurked around a couple because I like to see what people wear.
