Aaaaaah Jilly, I know exactly where this was taken from, I love your bird feeder and this time you've captured it perfectly. It doesn't get any better than this.
Nature certainly leaves all those artificial lights overdone. It is a shame what happened to the poor dog. All for the sake of bright lights & tinsel. Your photo is proof of the beauty of nature. Given to us for free.
Julie, I'm up at 6 a.m. summer and winter - blame the dogs but it's really me not sleeping. And right, dawn is not that early. This was taken at 7.40 a.m.
The birds are mostly tits - in particularly the coal tit. I've a nesting box and for the past two years a pair has nested there - not two feet from this feeder. There are other birds too, robins, finches (I think) and doves who wait for what falls and the tree rats who also get into this particuar feeder!
Gosh. This is breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteOMG! This is one of the most beautyful and poetic pictures you've ever made! I agree: breathtaking!

Wow, what a great picture ... Jilly! Just at the right time. Beautiful!

Wonderful silhouette, Jilly. I shan't ask why you were up at the crack of dawn in the middle of winter. Probably dawn is something crazy like 8am.
ReplyDeleteShall ask, however, what sort of birds are attracted to your feeder.
ah, jilly, and there is the little cup of sea under the fiery sky.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful

Superb, and indeed very poetic.
ReplyDeleteThe best time of day, and you photographed it creatively with the bird feeder. Interesting that we both post dawn photos today.
ReplyDeleteMagical image!
ReplyDeleteNow that is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGlorious dawn colors.
