One of Menton's beaches - Plage Fossan - has been made into a 'No
Smoking' beach this summer. They even provide an ashtray to use before
you enter. According to Nice-Matin it has proved unpopular. This is also
a 'No Dog' beach but Menton does have three beaches that allow dogs -
woof woof!

As an ex smoker,(The worse kind!)how wonderful. Keep it up Menton!
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no,no, no, no...Kind of unsettling at times.
ReplyDeleteI think this is progress. At least people have a choice. They can go to the smoking beach or the non-smoking beach, right?
ReplyDeleteI just got back from Menton and was at that same beach. I did see people smoking.
ReplyDeleteIn the evening lots of people brought there dogs. One person, their dog, a rather large one, maybe a German Shepard, had an "accident" on the beach and the woman didn't curb it. It was pretty disgusting.
Too bad there have to be so many rules . .
ReplyDeleteGreat idea...I hate being outside, at the beach, enjoying the fresh air and having smoke waft across me. It's not as if they have been left without other options.
