Val Rahmeh Garden - the Giant Pot

Eventually, this property was bought, in 1905, by Lord Radcliff, the ex-governor of Malta and his wife, Rahmeh, hence the name of the garden.  They added to the original villa and bought adjoining agricultural land, mostly planted with olive trees, some of which you can still admire in the garden, along with two of the original orange trees. 

Here you see a beautiful old pot which stands in front of a corner of the villa. And in the background, horticultural students take a class in the sunshine.

Finalement, cette propriété a été achetée, en 1905, par Lord Radcliff, ex-gouverneur de Malte et son épouse, Rahmeh, d'où le nom du jardin. Pour les adjoindre à la villa d'origine, ils ont acheté des terres agricoles adjacentes, principalement plantées d'oliviers, dont certains que vous pouvez encore admirer dans le jardin, ainsi que deux orangers d'origine. La famille Radcliff a quitté la propriété et le jardin en terrasse vers le milieu du XXe siècle.

Ici, vous voyez une belle jarre ancienne qui se trouve en face d'un coin de la villa. Et dans le fond, des étudiants en horticulture prennent un cours  en plein soleil.
