Fête des Limaces - the Ostensorium

The curé (left) kneels in front of the altar.  You see in front of him the 'monstrance' (also known as 'ostensorium') which is used to display the host.  Interestingly the word 'monstrance' comes from the Latin word monstrare, meaning 'to show.'
