Weekend Africain - the Ivory Coast

The medieval village of Gorbio is 'en fete' this weekend as the village resounds to the sounds of Africa - the Ivory Coast to be exact.  This is the third Weekend Africain to be held in the village where you can any of the many classes in dance, drums, percussion, fabrication of masks and totems, make-up, design - there are classes for children and for adults.

But it's at night when the real magic begin. 

First an African meal under the stars (I'll tell you about that another day) and then sit back and lose yourselves in the hot rhythms of eleven amazing performers in the group, Tamary.

Le village médiéval de Gorbio est «en fête» ce week-end et il résonne aux sons de l'Afrique - la Côte d'Ivoire pour être exact. C'est la troisième Weekend Africain qui se tient dans le village où on peut prendre l'un des nombreux cours,  de danse, de tambours,de percussions, de fabrication de masques et totems, de maquillage ou de  dessin.  Il existe des cours pour les enfants et pour les adultes.
 
Mais c'est la nuit que la vraie magie commence.

D'abord un repas africain sous les étoiles (je vous en parlerai un autre jour), puis asseyez-vous et laissez- vous emporter par  les rythmes chauds de onze artistes étonnants du groupe, Tamary.
