Collectif Artistes du Village - The Fountainhead


There's an art exhibition in the village of Gorbio at the moment.  It's called Dedans/Dehors which means Inside/Outside and so you'll find art displayed on the houses of the medieval village and also inside the restored presbytery.

This painting depicting the fountain built in 1882 is by Geraldine Rebuffati, who is the organiser of Le Collectif Artistes du Village.

En ce moment, il y a une exposition d'art dans le village de Gorbio  Son nom: Dedans / Dehors et ainsi on trouve des oeuvres d'art exposées sur les maisons du village médiéval comme  à l'intérieur du presbytère restauré.

Ce tableau,  représentant la fontaine construite en 1882, est de Géraldine Rebuffati laquelle est aussi l'organisatrice du Collectif des Artistes du Village.

    Lovely, lovely. You've probably told us before, Jilly, but do you know the reasoning behind the medieval passages? Is it simply architectural, or were they made for their beauty even then? Or something else?

    To me, there is nothing quite so beautiful as the shape of an archway.
