The golden apple sitting atop the decorated sword, is now offered by several of the villagers in turn. Here is Rene who will kiss the crucifix, held by the priest. As we learned yesterday, the crucifix and the sword represent the two social orders, good and evil.
On the left you see the Mayor of Gorbio, Mr. Michel Isnard and to his right, Mme. Colette Giudicelli, senator and vice president of the Conseil General.

La pomme d'or piquée sur l'épée décorée est maintenant offerte tour à tour par plusieurs villageois . Voici René qui va embrasser le crucifix tenu par le prêtre. Comme nous l'avons appris hier , le crucifix et l'épée représentent les deux ordres sociaux, le bien et le mal.
Sur la gauche, vous voyez le maire de Gorbio, Michel Isnard et à sa droite Mme Colette Giudicelli, sénatrice et vice-présidente du Conseil Général.
