PhotoMenton 2014
PhotoMenton starts today at the Palais de l'Europe. We are 110 photographers displaying many different styles of photography. Lots of wonderful photos by talented photographers on display. The invitee of honour is Nikos Aliagas. He is a French television journalist and a super photographer. And of course PhotoMenton this year is dedicated to Herve Gourdel, the mountaineer who was tragically beheaded in Algeria. Herve has exhibited at PhotoMenton every year since 2007 and was the nicest kindest man. He loved his mountains, his photography and of course his family. There is a fund raising money for Herve's children.
My theme this year is dogs, hence this photo. You can read more about PhotoMenton by clicking HERE.

Une collecte a été organisée pour réunir des fonds pour les enfants d' Hervé.
Les Chiens sont mon thème de cette année, d'où cette photo. Vous pouvez en savoir plus sur PhotoMenton en cliquant ICI.
Hi Jilly,
ReplyDeleteI heard about the death of Herve Gourdel even on the German media.
Terrible story! And for you it must be even more shocking as you knew him! I'm sure that the fund raising will be a big success!
I wish you much luck for your photos! Let us know the results!
Have a nice weekend!
Barbara from Germany
It is a horrible world we live it. Glad that you and the other photographers do your best to make it a little nicer with your photos.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds well worthwhile to raise funds for the family under those circumstances. The poor man.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful shot. I love dogs like that.

I was moved to hear that Hervé Gourdel had participated in Photo Menton for many years. It's only fair that Photo Menton be dedicated to him. Who could have imagined such a tragic and cruel fate? My deep sympathy goes to his family.
