Dawn over Menton - the Runner

It looks as if we've got a little series here - so here's a third photo of dawn in Menton.  When you've cloud like this which then catches the light, it's irresistible to try and capture in a photograph.

Tôt le matin à Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Nous regardons vers Menton et au-delà vers l'Italie. Sur la gauche, nichée au creux des collines, c'est la vieille ville de Menton.

The White House

This beautiful property at Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is set in pristine gardens with mature trees, palms and statuary. Goodness, I sound like a Realtor!  It's at Golfe Bleu and like many villas is best seen from the sea.

Cette belle propriété de Roquebrune-Cap-Martin est située dans des jardins naturels avec des arbres matures, des palmiers et des statues. Bonsang! Je parle comme un agent immobilier! C'est au Golfe Bleu et comme beaucoup de villas il vaut  mieux la voir de la mer.

Merci beaucoup à mon ami John pour une fabuleuse journée en mer. 

Flyboarding in Menton

Today, we are leaving the Flamenco in Gorbio and returning to Menton: sun, sea and all the good things that happen in summer. However I do have more photos of other flamenco dancers and perhaps will post them on a cold rainy day in winter when we will all need a little Spanish passion!


This is what happens when you fall off a Flyboard.  Bet that hurts! Crash helmet obligatory, of course.

Flyboard seems to be all the craze at many beaches along the coast.

Another time I'll hope to be nearer the action. I was on a boat a long way away and the boat was rocking!

Tomorrow: Flamenco!

Aujourd'hui, nous quittons le Flamenco à Gorbio et nous retournons à Menton: le soleil, la mer et toutes les bonnes choses qui se produisent en été. Cependant, j'ai encore beaucoup de photos d'autres danseurs de flamenco et peut-être les publierai-je un jour froid et pluvieux d'hiver, quand nous aurons tous besoin d' un peu de passion espagnole! 

C'est ce qui arrive quand vous tombez d'un Flyboard. Je parie que ça fait mal!  Casque obligatoire pour les accidents, bien sûr. 

Le Flyboard semble avoir toutes les faveurs sur de nombreuses plages le long de la côte.

La prochaine fois, j' espère être plus près de l'action.  J'étais sur un bateau au loin et le bateau se balançait!

The Magic of Menton

This is the same beach we saw yesterday, when it was full of holiday makers. This photo was taken at 7h.45 nearly two hours earlier - and as you'll see there is hardly a soul on the beach. The light is much better for a photo too, of course.

C'est la même plage que nous avons vue hier, quand elle était pleine de vacanciers. Ce photo a été prise à 7h.45, deux heures plus tôt - et comme vous le voyez, il y a peu d' âme sur la plage. Cependant, la lumière est bien meilleure pour une photo, bien sûr.

A Touch of the Sun

We are having very changeable weather in Menton - normal for March I'm sure.

So one day rain, the next a day where people lie in the sunshine. 

You saw these terraces in yesterday's photo.

Nous avons une météo très changeante à Menton - en Mars,  je suis sûre que c'est normal.

Donc, un jour de la pluie et le jour suivant les gens prennent le soleil.
