The orange trees of Menton

On the edges of the Jardins Bioves, the Bird of Paradise is in flower and the orange trees are laden with fruit.  Not long now and it'll be time for the Fete du Citron.

Sur les côtés du Jardins Biovès, 'l'Oiseau de Paradis' est en fleur et les orangers sont chargés de fruits. Bientôt,  ce sera le temps de la Fête du Citron.
 

The Dog with the Yellow Glasses!

Someone has put a pair of yellow spectacles (they are made of paper) on the French bulldog in the photo!  Thanks Sandrine for telling me about it. I popped down to Menton yesterday to take a snap - rain or no rain! I wouldn't normally promote my own photos with so many amazing photographers exhibiting, but I couldn't resist showing you the yellow spectacles.

There are only 10 days left for you to visit the Jardin Bioves in Menton and see the exhibition of 80 photographs by 26 photographers - members of PhotoMenton, Collectif Photon de Nice and Club Image de Monaco. After that, it's all systems go for PhotoMenton in the Palais de l'Europe which starts on the 15th November.

Quelqu'un a mis une paire de lunettes jaunes (elles sont faites en papier) sur le bouledogue français de la photo! Merci Sandrine pour m'avoir prévenue de cela. J'ai filé à Menton hier pour  prendre ce clin d'oeil - avec  pluie ou sans  pluie! Normalement, je ne veux  pas promouvoir mes propres photos parmi tant de photographies étonnantes présentées, mais je ne pouvais pas résister à vous montrer les lunettes jaunes.

Il ne vous  reste plus que 10 jours pour visiter le Jardin Biovès à Menton et voir l'exposition de 80 photographies de 26 photographes - membres de PhotoMenton, Collectif Photon de Nice et de Monaco Image Club. Après cela, tout ira  dans le Palais de l'Europe pour PhotoMenton  qui commence le 15 Novembre.

If you wander along to the Jardin Biovès in Menton you will find 84 beautiful photographs, by 28 photographers. This is part of the 2014 festival PhotoMenton . Three asociations have joined forces to exhibit until November 15th,

Betty Boop! In the 1930s Betty Boop was a well-known cartoon character and sex symbol. She was originally a caricature based on the singer Helen Kane.

Christmas in Menton: the Statue of Liberty

Menton has gone all American for Christmas.  The Jardin Bioves features the Statue of Liberty and red, white and blue cheerleaders  waving their arms about.

Menton est devenu tout Américain pour Noël. Le Jardin Biovès abrite la statue de la Liberté et des pom-pom girls vêtues de rouge de blanc et de bleu agitent leurs bras.

Photography in the Jardins Biovès

 If you take a stroll through the Jardins Biovès in Menton you'll find a fascinating exhibition of 60 photographs in the open air. Long gone are the days when a photo had to be protected by glass. These stand up to the rigors of rain, sun, storms - you name it.


The diverse and beautiful photographs were taken by a group of photographers from Corsica and are shown in conjunction with PhotoMenton. The exhibition continues until the 15th November. More tomorrow ...

Si vous vous promenez dans le Jardins Biovès à Menton, vous verrez une fascinante exposition de 60 photographies en plein air. Il est loin le temps où une photo devait être protégée par un verre . Celles-ci résistent aux rigueurs de la pluie, du soleil ou  de la  tempête.
 Ces diverses et belles photographies ont été prises par un groupe de photographes de Corse et sont présentées en collaboration avec PhotoMenton.  L'exposition se poursuit jusqu'au 15 Novembre .La

The Nose Patch

Why would someone stick a piece of paper on the horse's nose? There's another further down on the neck too - see smaller photo.

This sculpture stands in the Jardins Biovès and was taken a month ago, when we had blue skies and not today's grey, rain and cold.

'Hunting the Berkout' was created by Russian sculptor, Eugene Alexandrovich Lanceray. The Berkout is a Siberian eagle.

Pourquoi a-t-on collé un morceau de papier sur le nez du cheval? Il y en a aussi un autre plus bas sur le cou - voir la petite photo.

Cette sculpture se trouve dans les Jardins Biovès et a été photographiée il y a un mois, lorsque nous avions encore un ciel bleu et non pas gris comme aujourd'hui avec de la pluie et du froid.

'La chasse au Berkout' sculptée par le russe Eugène Alexandrovitch Lanceray. Le Berkout est un aigle de Sibérie.
