It's that time of year again. The Fete du Citron in Menton, which means thousands of people descending on the town to see the first Corso which took place yesterday.  The theme this year: 'Cinecitta, Italian cinema.'

C'est encore une fois ce moment  de l'année : La Fête du Citron à Menton , ce qui signifie des milliers de visiteurs qui  déferlent  sur la ville pour voir le premier Corso qui a eu lieu hier. Le thème de cette année: «Cinecitta, le cinéma italien.

So proud that this photo was awarded 2nd place in the '7th Regard Photographique  'Concours Photo de La Rue - Club Photo St. Laurent du Var.  Thank you to the judges and congratulations to my friend, Philippe Chiodi, who was awarded first prize.

Congratulations to the Club Photo St. Laurent du Var for the superb exhibition at the Hotel de la Ville, St. Laurent du Var - and for the warm welcome extended to us.

And thank you to Emmanuelle Deleuse and her dog Joe, without whom the photo wouldn't exist. Big hug, dear beautiful Emma.

Cardboard

Everyone needs a large cardboard box at times!  ... well, perhaps not the lady in the Mentonais costume who stands outside my favourite bakery, Au Baiser du Mitron.

Parfois, tout le monde a besoin d'une grande boîte en carton! ... Eh bien, peut-être pas la dame en  costume Mentonnais qui se tient à l'extérieur de ma boulangerie préférée, Au Baiser du Mitron.

Colour over the Bastion

Dusk. This crazy colour over the Bastion lasted for about 20 minutes and then ... it was gone.

Le crépuscule.  Cette folle couleur  sur le Bastion a duré environ 20 minutes et puis ... elle  a disparu.

Darkness

Darkness,  a narrow street. A light shines on the entrance to the Chapelle of the Black Penitents - a short cut for someone walking home.

Une rue étroite, la nuit. Une lumière brille sur l'entrée de la Chapelle des Pénitents-Noirs - un raccourci pour quelqu'un rentrant chez lui.

Hmmmmm....

Well... if a good-looking bare-chested guy walks towards me - then he's going to get his photo taken!

Eh bien ... si un beau gars torse nu se dirige vers moi - alors il va être pris en  photo!

Port Saint-Antoine

The archway is the original Porte Saint-Antoine, which was once the principal access to Menton from the west.  Walk through the archway and you are in Rue Longue, part of the Roman road of Julia Augusta.

L'arche était à l'origine la Porte Saint-Antoine, autrefois le principal accès ouest de la ville de Menton. Traversez la voûte et vous êtes dans la rue Longue, une partie de la voie romaine Julia Augusta.

This is a photo taken four years ago of two brothers in Gorbio village. I love how the eldest boy carefully watches his young brother.

C'est une photo de deux frères, prise il y a quatre ans au village de Gorbio. J'aime la façon dont l'aîné observe attentivement son jeune frère.

Dog on a table?

This Jack Russell looks as if he's standing on a table but in fact he is standing on a wall alongside this restaurant in Place du Cap, Menton.   Dogs are part of life in France and if you go to a restaurant, then of course, your dog can go too.  I approve!

Ce Jack Russell a l'air d'être debout sur une table mais en fait, il est debout sur un mur à côté de ce restaurant de la Place du Cap, Menton. Les chiens font partie de la vie en France et si vous allez dans un restaurant, évidemment votre chien peut aller aussi. J'approuve!
